BUFORD stands up wailing-out and rocking side-to-side. JIMMIE calls out to him above the CHANTS:

They're sanctified now!
BUFORD slides down the scale and riffs a fusillade of notes in DOTTIE’s direction.
DOTTIE, smiling brightly, returns fire, SCATTING the notes back to BUFORD in perfect pitch.
The CROWD stops chanting and begins CLAPPING along to the staccato pyrotechnics of BUFORD’s wailing tenor sax CALL and DOTTIE’s scatting RESPONSE.
