(excitedly in background)
Yes!  Now that's what I'm talking about!  
Aw, naw!  Have mercy!  I ask for none and 
I give none.  Quit jaw-jacking and roll!  

JIMMIE, overhearing the MUSICIANS, chuckles and continues PLAYING.  There is snifter of brandy and a REEFER JOINT in the ashtray before him on the piano top.

DOTTIE (V.O.)
May I join you? 

JIMMIE looks up to see DOTTIE smiling down at him.  She wears a thick white bathrobe. 

JIMMIE
(a buzzed smile)
Step right on in, the melody is fine.

DOTTIE joins him on the bench.  She HUMS along as he PLAYS.

DOTTIE
I like it.  It sounds pretty.

(nods)
