  How fittin' it is…that we have some
  special guests in our humble church
  today.  Two precious little lambs 
  have made the long journey down here 
  from all the way up North, in Ohio, 
  to give us somethin’ extra to rejoice 
  and be glad about on this blessed day
  as we celebrate the signing of the 
  Emancipation Proclamation.

In the sanctuary doorway, RUBY quickly pats DOROTHY and VIVIAN’s elaborate curls in place and adjusts their costumes just-so.
