                         RUBY
        That's not the point!  I tell you 
        that you can’t buy a fan magazine… 
        and the second my back is turned you 
        sneak off and buy it anyway?  
 
                      AUNTIE MAMA
        She's so hard-headed and willful.
        So disobedient…
                (turning to DOROTHY
                 in the rear)
        You should have been doing your 
        homework like Vivian instead of         
        burying your face in this trash.  
 
                        DOROTHY
                (protesting)
        But it’s not trash!
 
                      AUNTIE MAMA
        I beg your pardon?  Are you talking
        back to me?

VIVIAN pulls a taunting look at DOROTHY as if to say, “Let’s see you dig yourself out of this hole.”
