The Wonder Kids! pgs. 33-35

As the applause for RUBY dies down, AUNTIE MAMA PLAYS the fanfare again.

Onstage, RUBY does a handstand on the back of a chair as the curtain falls to HEARTY APPLAUSE.  The curtain rises.  RUBY takes an elaborate bow then extends her hand toward the Stage Left Wings, indicating…

DOROTHY and VIVIAN as they merrily prance onto the stage, SINGING the 2ND CONTEMPORARY HIT SONG while performing an intricate soft-shoe dance routine to SPONTANEOUS APPLAUSE.

STAY TUNED

A Personal Note:  Dorothy Dandridge was a familiar name to me as a young lad growing up in Detroit, Michigan.  Not owing solely to her fame on the silver screen, but because my dear late mother, Ruth Marie Gordon Epps, a child of the Great Depression, would often speak of her with a warm fondness usually reserved for a close family member.  My mother never forgot that joyful day, long ago, when The Wonder Kids! lifted her spirit and made a lasting impression when they performed at the Wichita, Kansas orphanage where she resided.

FYI:  Blog posts will be three times a week (Mon, Wed and Fri) beginning next Monday 18 February 2019.  Have a great weekend everyone!
