HAROLD’s eyes are fixed on DOROTHY.  LOLA turns to him with a look of sudden exasperation, clearly irritated at his evident interest in DOROTHY.

                         LOLA
                (pointedly)
       They… are The Dandridge Sisters.  And 
       they're way at the bottom of the bill.
 
                        HAROLD
                (eyes on DOROTHY)
       Well, they are jamming!

INT. HOWARD THEATRE—STAGE LEFT WINGS. DAY.

JACKIE “MOMS” MABLEY, the legendary comedienne, clad in her regalia of dowdy cloth hat and cheap cotton print dress and clodhoppers, bustles up to AUNTIE MAMA.

                         MOMS
       Duchess, those girls of yours are 
       going over big out there.  They're
       stopping the show.
 
                     AUNTIE MAMA
                (smiling tightly)
