       I had to ask.
                (playfully spanks 
                 HAROLD's hand)
       There, there, that's enough 
       geography for one day.
 
                        HAROLD
                (smiles)
       And here I thought you were gonna be
       an "A" student.
 
                         LOLA
                (chuckles)
       You be an "A" student and watch the 
       show.

The Howard Theatre is all of the way live.  The AUDIENCE is standing, clapping and bobbing to the rhythm, shouting encouragement toward the stage, and exuberantly gigging in the aisles.

The ORCHESTRA is swinging as if their lives depended on it.

And THE DANDRIDGE SISTERS are center stage, rocking the house. 

HAROLD’s face brightens.  He is immediately entranced. 

HAROLD’S POV— CLOSE ON—DOROTHY singing lead and vamping to the max on the stage.

       Whoa!  Who's the lead singer?  She 
       can jam for days!
