HAROLD and FAYARD take the show home now in a gravity defying routine. 

They lean forward, almost parallel to the floor, while tap dancing up a storm.  Their slick hair is hanging in their eyes and their arms are flailing in the air as a tidal wave of WILD APPLAUSE floods across the footlights. 

CURTAIN CLOSES.

CURTAIN OPENS.

THE NICHOLAS BROTHERS step forward, bow and blow kisses as the AUDIENCE APPLAUDS, CHEERS, WHISTLES, SHOUTS. 

CURTAIN CLOSES.

INT. HOWARD THEATRE—ONSTAGE AND STAGE LEFT WINGS. DAY.

Behind the closed curtain, HAROLD is grinning with elation as he steals a glance toward the Stage Left Wings.  

HAROLD’s POV—VIVIAN and ETTA clapping enthusiastically in the Stage Left Wings.  DOROTHY is nowhere in sight.

His wide grin evaporates.

INT. HOWARD THEATRE—STAGE. DAY.

CURTAIN OPENS.

THE NICHOLAS BROTHERS step forward to MORE APPLAUSE, CHEERS, and WHISTLES. 

CLOSE ON HAROLD, forcing a bright smile, as he takes a final bow.
