INT. HOWARD THEATRE—STAGE LEFT WINGS. DAY.

FAYARD and GERI are near the stage entrance, a few feet away from the talking DOROTHY and HAROLD.  They watch them a moment with amused expressions.  GERI smiles to FAYARD and clutches his hand tenderly.

                         GERI
       Send them for a loop, handsome.
 
                        FAYARD
       You're making leaving noises?
 
                         GERI
       I'm not going far.  I'll be watching 
       the fireworks from above.  
 
                        FAYARD
                (smiles)
       Okay.  See you later alligator.
 
                         GERI
       After a while crocodile.
                (softly)  
       I love you.

She kisses him full on the mouth.
