               (with obvious disappointment)
      How kind.

He distastefully drinks the water while taking in the minuscule dressing room in a sweeping, pitying glance.  He notices the hanging costumes on the overhead pipe; the long dressing table cluttered with hand mirrors and makeup paraphernalia.

                          JOE
      Jesus.  What a dump.  I bet you'll 
      be glad to kiss this bats roost 
      goodbye.
               (then)
      Say, where're the girls?  I was 
      counting on their being here.
 
                    AUNTIE MAMA
               (perplexed)
      They're backstage checking out the 
      show.
 
                          JOE
      Aw.
