Welcome DOROTHY DANDRIDGE fans!

Prepare to power-up your laptops and mobile devices and settle comfortably in your director’s chairs as you are treated to thrice weekly posts (Mon-Wed-Fri) of four episodes from the original Twelve-Hour Musical Melodrama… DOTTIE.

It is a highly entertaining saga, spanning four decades (1930s-1960s) in the life of legendary screen siren, DOROTHY DANDRIDGE, a beautiful black actress-singer-dancer who overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles to living the “American Dream” as a radiant Movie Star!

She achieved this astonishing feat during a time of rampant segregation in the South—a time when black actresses were relegated to playing mammies and maids in movies—by means of her God-Given talent, chutzpah, sophistication and by generating enough sensual heat to set the blood boiling of male audiences around the globe.

We’ll journey at DOTTIE’s side on the long and winding road tour — driven to a rhythmically pulsating beat of Contemporary Hit Songs — across a gripping backdrop of the Harlem Renaissance, WWII, gangland slayings, and the hostile takeover of a Las Vegas casino by the East Coast mob.

BEAUTIFUL!!!

SULTRY!!!

SEDUCTIVE!!!

We’ll follow DOTTIE from the “Chitlin’ Circuit” to Harlem’s famed Cotton Club on an amazing journey that eventually leads to 20th Century-Fox Studios, where she is transformed into a box-office commodity and a Showbiz phenomenon rolled into one glamorous package.
